The ancient city of Sagalassos is located in the region known as Pisidia in antiquity. Located adjacent to a mountainous area, the first traces of settlement in the city date back to 12,000 years ago. The ancient city of Sagalassos is extremely well preserved with its monumental structures, where almost all of the original building blocks can be found. On the other hand, the plan of the city is quite striking considering the terraced structure on which it was built, and a harmonious and impressive monumental Center has been created with this structure.

In addition, with at least a thousand years of ceramic production, Sagalassos is proposed to the UNESCO World Heritage list as the longest center of ceramic production in ancient times.

Sagalassos, known as the city of loves and emperors, is located at 1750 meters above sea level on the slope of a hill dominating deep valleys, and contains the best examples of Roman architecture.
